Babbling about books...

.... and university at first:

I am at about 60-70 % now, learning for my Japanese exam next week - concerning Vocabulary and Grammar. Active kanji are at 90 %, passive kanji like... 20 % <<< AHAHAHA!!!
But I guess I will manage at least 60 % up till Wednesday. If not I have still one option left: improvisation and a sharp glance onto my neighbours tests XD;

... and life itself secondly:
Nadine's cousin Laura payed a visit. She is still here actually. And she is beautiful :D
Oh hell.. she really is. Long reddish hair, nice body. Bla bla. hawt  XD
The only bad thing: She has a baby. And it SCREAMS @__________@ and it shits and it is.. a baby after all.
That's why I'm hiding in my room most of the time.
Ahaha ;)

.... finally ~~~~ books:
Ohohoho last year I barely read 5 books, this year, and we still have January people, it've been 4 so far, and like dozens of manga xD;
The last book I finished was "Kafka on the Shore" from Murakami. I borrowed it from an uni-friend and first I wasn't sure if it be good or a complete waste.
I decided for the first solution.

I donnu if you people read it, but I, for me, must say that I didn't understand certain parts of it. There are still lots of questions unanswered at the end of the story. One of them might be, what happened to Hoshino after all. Haha, I liked him very much and was anxious to get to know how he would live after all the incidents. Unfortunately, nothing about that was said, after all.
Another point was Oshima's brother, whose name I forgot. I mean... he met the two soldiers, too. Obviously. And I SO wanted to know what he said to them, back then. If he got through the "entrance", or not. And if he went through, what he saw and experienced there.
Then, Oshima, again. Oh lol... I guess I read too much stories, the first thing I thought, when he appeared was: "Gay! Or he actually is female."
Ehm... I was right, haha in both of them. ^^"
Furthermore I didn't understand what actually happened to the 16 children back in 1944 on the ricebowl hill.
I mean, nearly all of the incidents in "Kafka on the Shore" happen in Yamanashi-ken, and I can't stop thinking, that the ricebowl hill and the hill, where Oshima and his brother's cabin is situated, are the same. Obvious, somehow?
Hm... also, the clearing, where Kafka rests in the forest seems to be the same, where the 16 children lost their conciousness.
It is also clear, that Nakata opened the "entrance" back then... and I can't stop the thought that it happened because he lifted the "entrance" stone, where his teacher hid the cloths, with whom she tried to stop her bleeding.
She never said it, not even in the letter, she wrote. But I guess, that she hid it under the stone... and Nakata found it and.. hmm I can't recall why I think so, but I can somehow remember reading something connected to blood and the "entrance stone". Maybe the teacher's blood was a catalyst for the door to the other world's opening?
Does anyone of you have some ideas concerning this?

*sigh* I'm even thinking of this now. XD;
Everytime when I read the book I was completely lost, which means, that it was good O_O".
I read lots of books but there are only a few, where I completely lost attention to my surroundings.
Besides, I like Murakami's writing style. It's just like he spit the words out and left them where they are, perfectly unfitting sometimes, but still so true and understandable. He does not euphemise. When he wants his characters to think "fuck", he just lets them think (and do, of course).  Yet, his style seems very Japanese to me (which is kinda clear, because he is Japanese). But in the way he describes the nature and all the environmental facts, he writes just like no Non-Japanese would do ^^°.
Plus: I lol'd so hard at the "Johnnie Walker"-part (just the name! The happenings were more than shocking) and the "KFC Colonel Sanders" dude. OMG! I mean.. how crazy can one person be? Using Colonel Sanders as a pimp? I cried. Literary. :D

All in all the book is worth reading. A lot!

Now on to Stephenie Meyer's "Twilight". I'm still not finished, which is good.. maybe, because I should learn and not read ^^""".
But I promised to share my thought about it, and that's what I will do now:

Like I said in my last entry, I was (and still am) not sure if "Twilight" deserves all the attention it gets. The opinions of my friends are 50/50 wether this book is THE awesomness or THE shit.
Hm... as far as I can say (I'm at chapter 10 'Interrogations') the book seems to be readable *gets kicked from all the fans and glances from the haters* No, no... ;D
I must admit, the story seems to be good and I am willing to read the other books, too. (I won't say, that I ordered them <all> just now >> too much money? xD; No just because of the special offers on amazon.com)

Since I'm not able the resume, because I'm not finished, yet. I will just share some thoughts. Positive ones, and oh YES! negative ones, too :D

First: Isabella Swan. I lol'd (I like doing that, it seems.) She is SO clumsy. I don't know why, but when "she" mentioned that she stumbles like every second, is bad at sports and always hurts herself and keeps getting in trouble, I just couldn't stop laughing. This was so screaming for: I NEED A HERO!
What I really like about her, is:
1. her hair :D
2. her character in some ways. -> She seems to be strict. When she made decisions, she stands by them. That's strong. Sometimes I wish I wouldn't be that unstable ^^°. On the other hand this feature in her character is dangerous. I don't know in how many ways she will get to know this, soon, but I know that she will xD;
3. (and that should be on the first place, actually) her CAR *_* - red - CHEVI <3<3<3 - truck <-- okay this is kinda uncool, but hey, it's a frickin' CHEVROLET *________*~~~
I love Chevrolets, although they surely go far beyond my sense of ecology ^^°°°°°.
But I can't help it. Roarrrr~~

What else? Ah, I nearly DIED! when Bella was outside reading... reading Jane Austen. JANE AUSTEN?!?!?!?! fkajgkdjglksajtkvl!!! If there is any other bad and raging thing to me than Theodor Fontane's "Effi Briest", it can only be Jane Austen's "Sense and Sensibility" and every other shit, she ever dared to write. *cough*
Sorry, dudes, no offence if anyone of you should like her œuvres, but I just can't stand her. Bah!
That was one moment, when I thought: Qan! Put away that book, it could change into a Jane Austen copy ~  wuaaaaah!
It did not... yet.

Second: Edward Cullen.
His first appearance - the black eyes, when his gaze met Bellas. My thoughts: "Oh, he is thirsty."
... ehm.. lol? xD Okay, that was obvious.
I'm not sure yet, whether I like him or not. He just seems to be... hmmm strangely perfect.
I mean.. okay, it was clear, that he would be THE hottest guy out there, that he would take care for Bella, was obvious, too.
But... what was that with Tyler's van?
OKAY. All vampires have super natural strength. But... "[...] the deep dent in the tan car's bumper -- a very distinct dent that fit the contours of Edward's shoulders" ... I couldn't stop thinking about comics, where a person jumped through a window, or door, or wall, or whatever and left a hole with their contours.

What I like about him is his trying not to touch her. How long, is the question. But I like the fact, that they don't touch that easily.
Hm.. about the fact, when he meets the sun, I already spoilered myself and I'm eager to know how Meyer will describe it. I'm curious if she manages it, that this doesn't sounds hilarious.

About the vampire myths at all:
Friends of mine were disturbed by the fact, that they don't have to sleep at daytime, are able to meet the sun and stuff. But I kinda find it interesting. Meyer dares to overthrow all the common thoughts about vampires and that's brave, I guess.
I don't know how exactly she will set "her" vampires, but as far as I know now, it could be quite cool. (Okay, the thing with glimmering in the sun is a little... okay... VERY awkward, but hey... it's just one thing - up till now.)

When Jacob Black appeared, I was like: Antagonist? Another lover? Who is he? ARGHGH!
(Why oh why do I have to think in ways, authors do, seriously? Hm.. but I think he will be like a brother or something to Bella. Donnu if elder or younger, like he actually is... but something like that.)
The werewolf part. WOW!  I like werewolves. A lot :D As explanation for the Quileutes' history it seems a little strange, but I can't say anything against it. Fantasy and stuff.

Hmm.. what else?
Ah, yes, the writing style. I like the way she evolves her sentences. The pattern of them is very good. She uses inversions a lot and metaphors.. ooooh and puns <3
There was one, before Bella got to school the first time... something like "nobody will bite me". Ahaha ;)
To the plot: Hm... there are a few questions that I (fortunately) am not able to answer from my current state of reading. That means, there is potential in it. But on the other hand, there were a few things, just like the happenings at Port Angeles, that were SO obvious.
I NEED A HERO, y'know? ;D
Also the fact, that Bella is first: able to smell blood (I can do that, too. Vampire for love out there? xD~) and that she is getting sick because of that. Nihihihi. It was kind of clear, that she would be kinda "similar" to Edward in that certain point.
Okay he is getting horny thirsty, but when he doesn't get his blood, he feels shitty, too. ;D

Trivia:
I guess I LOVE Alice a lot. Guess she is the pixie-like, black spiky-haired? Roaaaarrrr *_* I imagine her as utterly sexy XD;
Too bad, she is involved with... donnu one of the others. Hahaha~~
Wanna know more about her, soon. <3

Okay, that'd be for the first time.
You see.. I'm not becoming a victim nor a hater of the story. Guess, that's a good point for enjoying it :)

Yep, that's it, so far. The next books coming on my list are "The Geisha" by Arthur Golden and "The Tales of Beedle the Bard" by J. K. Rowling.
(and my university folders... ahahaha xD)

Have a good night, dudes :D

Murakami! ♥

"Maybe the teacher's blood was a catalyst for the door to the other world's opening?"
Darüber hab ich noch gar net nachgedacht und jetzt ist es schon so lange her das ich das buch gelesen hab dass ich mich echt nur noch wage an diesen entrance stone und so erinnere.. vielleicht soltle ich es bei gelegenheit nochmal l esen ô___O;;

[identity profile] silberblut.livejournal.com 2009-01-25 11:46 am (UTC)(link)
xD;
Ich ahnte schon, dass mir da keiner ne Antwort drauf geben kann. Vielleicht sollte ich Murakami mal direkt schreiben und fragen XD;

I must admit, the story seems to be good and I am willing to read the other books, too.
Meine Dame, wir sind geschiedene Leute... XD
Ich mein, really?! REALLY?! >_>

1. Die hängen ja wirklich nur noch aufeinander rum O_O;;

Hm.
Aber ich bin dennoch gewillt, mich mit den anderen Büchern auseinanderzusetzen. Und sei es nur, um mich dann furchtbar darüber aufzuregen. XD;;;
<< Masochist? O_O"

[identity profile] decembersong.livejournal.com 2009-01-26 06:03 pm (UTC)(link)
Good luck for your exam!! x_x I'm sharing your pain...

And OMG @ baby alarm. You have my greatest sympathy. That's really NOT what you need around the exams °_°;

Haha, now you're into Twilight as well XD Slowly but surely I become afraid of reading it XDDD
I've only seen the movie o far. I think Alice and her boyfriend are just the most beautiful movie-couple I've seen for quite a long time, man °_°;;

I'm curious about your opinion about J.K. Rownling's book, I'd like to read it as well. But my to-read-list is far too long atm *_*;

[identity profile] silberblut.livejournal.com 2009-01-26 06:24 pm (UTC)(link)
Thanks, hun <3
When do you have yours?
My first is on 28th January. ARGH, in two days already xD;

Yeeees O_O
Ich was so frickin' pissed because of that little brat.

Into.. and not proud of it, that's it.
When I finished the book I got already pissed... but I will read the others as well (maybe just because I want to freak out about the fact, that the authoress has so many good ideas to make the story REALLY interesting, but all chances seem to fade away just because of... well the love story =___=. Hm, will see xD)
I'm about to download the film as well.
When I heard that it will become a cinema film and got to know the actor for Edward, I was SO much like lolololol! Because he already pissed me off in Harry Potter and now.. when the most awesome, most gorgeous, moooost perfect vamp-bishie is wanted, he destroys the dream as well xD;;;

I love Alice so much *_*
I saw a pic of her actress and aaah she is pretty, but I imagine Alice a little more boyish... with even shorter hair and... donnu xD;;
If I was able to draw, I would've done it, ahaha~.

Yeah, I read Beedle's Tales <3
The book is very well written.. as to be expected from JK, but hmm I mean.. it's a thing you "should" have, when you're a HP-fan, but it's not that necessary or catching. It's a collection of some nice fairy tales, after all. No more, no less :)

[identity profile] decembersong.livejournal.com 2009-01-26 08:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Hmmm next Tuesday, Thursday and 12 February : /
This early Ö_Ö Oh my, good luck. Rock them away!

SOmehow I feel like the book is much better than the film. I haven't read it yet, but the film was just... badly written. You know, I think when you try to make a movie out of a book, you should try to focus either on characterization or storytelling, since combining both can be pretty hard, especially if the book is written from 1st person perspective. and well, my opinion is: they fucked up both XD
but I'm going to read the book,s so I'll know :3
Haha, not a Diggory fan, huh? XD

Sounds cute, maybe I'll get around reading it sometime <3 I like fairy tales...

[identity profile] silberblut.livejournal.com 2009-01-26 10:01 pm (UTC)(link)
Oh damn, that's hard, too.
Ganbatte... eh I mean, work hard XD;

Thanks, I hope I will.

If you want to read it, I can lend it to you :)
But don't expect much of a characterization in there.. because there isn't XD;;;

Hm.. Diggory sucked in the book.. a bit, just a little.. but in the film he was just worse. Okay.. but I guess it's ... what's his name anyway? Something Pattinson is just so.. irgh @_@

Yay~ do so, do so :)
But honestly, it's not worth spending 12 Euro on it. Therefore it's just too thin...

[identity profile] decembersong.livejournal.com 2009-01-27 09:20 am (UTC)(link)
Thank you, Bine already offered it to me as well :'D
have you got the english version or german? I'd actually prefer to read it in english, but I'll just take what I can get °_°;
there isn't??? O_O I thought there would be plenty x_X well, I'll see XD

eeeer, peter pattinson? no wait, I think I'm mixin things up now XDDDD dunno

maybe it'll get cheaper until I've got kids to read fairytales to *cough* XDDDDD

[identity profile] silberblut.livejournal.com 2009-01-27 11:02 am (UTC)(link)
Lol, she was the one who said I have to read it, actuall xD;

Ich have the English ones... because.. well English is cooler :D.
Hm~ Meyer describes her characters .. in a way but aaah it's not enough in my opinion. But yeah, you will see. xD

You made me google! Shame on you :D
His name is Robert Pattinson... and he is a year older than me.. that means, I have a chance to beat him up. XD;

There could be chances.. amazon and ebay are your friends XD

[identity profile] decembersong.livejournal.com 2009-01-27 11:14 am (UTC)(link)
"Your" Bine or "my" Bine? XD Gosh, we really have to find a way to distinguish them XD

Yay *--* Then I'd like to come back to your offer sometime <3

Yeah, I made you google it, but now you're smarter, aren't ya? :'D (sounds familiar??)

[identity profile] silberblut.livejournal.com 2009-01-27 11:23 am (UTC)(link)
My Bine... xD
English-Bine :D:D:D:D

NOOOOO!!! You used the bad word.. dis~~ dis~~ ah I can't write it! *shudder*

Yes, of course, of course ^^.

Smarter.. yes unnecessary knowledge come into my heaaad! XD

[identity profile] messiah-noire.livejournal.com 2009-01-27 12:13 am (UTC)(link)
Good luck with your exams, ne?! ^^

Long reddish hair? Sounds nice. XD
Baby... *ugh* I don't really like babies. I mean, some are rather cute, but they can be really annoying too. :/ I understand you. XD

About Twilight...
Well, I think that Bella is not always strict, at least not when it comes to Edward. He can do whatever he wants, and even if it really pisses her off, a couple of minutes later she isn't angry anymore, because, well it's him. :/
Edward's too perfect for me. And I'm a bit annoyed by the fact that his outer appearance is described so often. XD
Hm, I don't mind changing vampires a bit, but she didn't really give them any weaknesses, which is - to me - just a wee bit too Sueish. ^^;
(Oh, she'll screw Jacob up in Eclipse... ;___; He could have been such a lovable character... *sigh*)
I quite like Alice too. But she looks too old in the movie. :/ (As do most of the characters, actually. They don't really look like they would be in high school. o.O')

Uhm, okay, won't go on about Twilight anymore. XD

[identity profile] shio-luv-tesshi.livejournal.com 2009-02-02 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)
i'm so left behind with books. >___<:; whoa and i didn't know JK rowling got new book~OH GAWd thanks a lot dear~ when you exam day?GAHHH yesh!!! i understand the frustness of it. KANJI are like O_______O while GRAMMAR and vocab =________=;' XD Shikkari shirou! <3333*pats pats*
