... pentecost-weekend's cooking sessioooooooon.
Menu:
Tomato salad plus
Spinach-Quiche "Peace, Man! May be the butterfly with you!"
Camilo's uber awesome pineapple-vanilla-girls-adore-these-berries-dessert
Extra:
Qan presents "How to make SEASALT ICECREAM"
Yoooo, last Saturday Camilo invited himself to Nadine's and my flat to cook together. Since he's Vegetarian I spent a little while to find a nice menuuuuuu *_*;
After getting onto the false tram, he finally arrived and we bought the last ingredients, including a not planned bottle of wine and an awesome pineapple (extra: "how can I find out if a pineapple is ripe?" -- try to rip out a leave from the middle. Does it work? If so, your pineapple is ripe :D). Additionally we decided to buy some strawberries as well --- all for the dessert XD;
Yeaaah but let's go to see the photoshow ~

(Hmmm I guess Camilo destroyed some of my beloved puff pastry)

Nadine sets the clock for....

This one *_*~~
Hah, can you see the little butterfly in it? Camilo made it out of puff pastry with all his love XD;
(Actually there should've been kinda #### - pattern on it, but yeah... there was not enough puff pastry << Hey! I love this word now!)
45 minutes later, our friend looked like this:

Camilo did the unappreciated work and killed it:

Hey, wooow in the left corner of the pic you can see the tomato-salad XD;
And yeees we ate at our balcony - it was like 10 p.m. and warm like... 25°C o_O;
See what we saw - our table without the lightning from the camera:

Yaaay, after eating the whole quiche we waited... waited.... waited.. AND THEN we designed one of the best desserts I've ever eaten
Vanilla pudding atop pineapples, lovely covered by a fluffy strawberry-sorbet (or kinda XD)

Camilo designed his with stripes...
I tried a chess board pattern... (guess WHY XD)

... and failed.
But.... the best thing was:

Nadine's uuuuber evil devil-face XD;
It was soooooooooooooooo delicious *_________*
But I guess something was wrong with the meal (nooo we didn't drink too much alcohol.. nooo)
Because... suddenly we were teased by "Mr. Napkinhead"

And finally... the three chefs together:

I don't know why, but we definitely LOOK like the mess we made in the kitchen XD;

Yooo dudes, you made it until now. If you're not interested in seasalt-icecream - skip this.
I found a recipe some weeks ago and desperately wanted to make it myself. Since my mum found some cute ice cream moulds and gave them to me on Saturday, I decided to go for the seasalt-experience on Sunday.
Here we goooo!
The ingredients:

2 eggs (Yay, from happy free living chicken!)

2 cups of milk

1 cup of liquid cream (I actually used only half of it)

1/3 cup of sugar (I used more, because I've put too much salt in the cream *coughs*)

the marrow of half a vanilla bean

blue food colouring
and... last but not least:

salt, woooho XD
How to make it finally:
Separate the yolk from the egg white and put it into different bowls

Stir the egg whites until they get stiff

Mix the yolks and the sugar and stir it, until you get a thicken cream

(omg I like this pic xD)

Now - the milk, boil it while stirring occasionally over medium heat.

After that, let the milk cool down a little, then mix it with the yolk-sugar-cream and heat it, until it gets thick to get a creamy substance.
(Don't boil!)

Let it cool down again, then put the stiff egg whites in and mix it well

Now - the SALT - put as much into it as you like, but be careful! It took me a lot of sugar to give a good taste to it again, after pouring too much salt in it. It should taste salty-sweet in the end, more sweet than salty ;)

After that put the mixture into the freezer for like 2 hours.
Then take it out - pour the vanilla, the whipped cream and the food colouring into it and miiiix it

Now you can fill it into ice cream moulds and put it in the freezer again, at least for one night :D

And.... then... ENJOY *__________________*

It tastes wonderful. I totally fell in love with this ice cream and will make it soon again. The next time I will use less vanilla and more salt, or... well I guess the vanilla overflued the salty taste a little, so it was "too sweet" in the end. But awesome anyway.
And DUDES! It makes happy, and if it weren't such a pain in the ass, I would take it with me to every convention this year XD;;
Take care, everybody!
